About this grant
The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) offers Organics Management Grants to fund equipment and items that reduce, recover, donate, or divert organic waste and food waste. Priority goes to public/private partnerships and to counties, municipalities, public institutions, and nonprofits providing new or expanded organics management services to residents.
Eligibility details
- Notes: Eligible applicants are Tennessee counties, cities, solid waste authorities, and organizations determined to be tax-exempt nonprofit recycling organizations designated as 501(c)(3) by the IRS, under T.C.A. § 68-211-825. Eligible projects include organics waste reduction equipment/items (including educational materials), organics waste recovery and donation equipment/items, and organics waste diversion equipment/items such as composting equipment. Strategies that increase disposal in Class I disposal facilities are not eligible.
