Worcester County Grants

Point of Pride's HRT Access Fund provides direct financial assistance to transgender individuals who cannot afford gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy. Recipients receive 18 months of HRT-related care including telemedical visits, lab work, medical letters, and prescription cost coverage through partner providers.

The Jean McDonough Arts Center, in partnership with Greater Worcester Community Foundation and the Barr Foundation, offers grants to support artists and cultural organizations in presenting projects at the JMAC. The program provides funding for project development, implementation, marketing costs, and JMAC space usage through a three-phase application process.

The Greater Lowell Community Foundation offers multiple grant cycles to support nonprofits in the Greater Lowell and Merrimack Valley region. Current 2026 opportunities include the Nashoba Valley Community Healthcare Fund, Discretionary Grants, and the NetScout Heart of Giving program, with awards ranging from $5,000 to $20,000.

The Nonprofit Effectiveness Grant Program provides funding to support nonprofits' internal organizational development, including capacity building, leadership development, and navigating organizational change. Grants up to $10,000 support projects in areas such as building internal capacity, leadership development, legal costs, communications support, and contingency planning for 501(c)(3) organizations serving Worcester County.

This grant supports nonprofit organizations exploring or implementing organizational restructures, mergers, or shared services models. Funding covers feasibility studies, technical assistance, due diligence, and professional fees for organizations in various stages of these strategic initiatives.

Point of Pride's Annual Transgender Surgery Fund provides direct financial assistance to transgender individuals who cannot afford gender-affirming surgery. The program is a scholarship-like grant that covers surgical costs for eligible procedures performed in the United States. Applications open November 1 and close November 30 each year.
