Truckee River Fund

The Truckee River Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada, provides grants to protect and enhance the water quality and water resources of the Truckee River and its watershed. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, nonprofit educational institutions, and governmental entities. The current RFP cycle has approximately $400,000 available, with grants typically ranging from $5,000 to $100,000, and proposals are due by July 24, 2026.

Eligibility

  • notes: Applicants must be registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit agencies, nonprofit educational institutions, or governmental entities. Projects must begin within 180 days of award. A minimum 25% match is required (cash or in-kind; cash only for projects downstream of Vista USGS gage). Land/water rights acquisition not funded. Projects must demonstrate measurable impact on Truckee River water quality/watershed.
