African American Unity Fund

The African American Unity Fund supports initiatives and organizations that benefit the African American community in Omaha through resident-led decision making. The program awards up to $225,000 annually in grants (up to $30,000 per organization) across funding priorities including arts and culture, basic human needs, community development, health and wellness, and capacity building.

Eligibility

  • notes: Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization or work with a 501(c)(3) fiscal agent. Annual operating budget may not exceed $500,000. Programs must serve African Americans in Douglas, Sarpy, and Pottawattamie Counties. Organizations must have non-discrimination policies aligned with the stated clause. Previous recipients may reapply if final report was submitted.
