GRAND RAPIDS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION

A single online application for students to apply for hundreds of scholarship awards for college, career training, or graduate school. Most scholarships require a connection to West Michigan (current or past residents). The application opens December 1 and closes March 1 each year, with nearly $700,000 awarded annually.

The LGBTQ Fund provides grants to community organizations in West Michigan with programming addressing social determinants of health for LGBTQ+ communities. The fund supports wellness, visibility, acceptance, and access to resources for LGBTQ+ populations. Grant applications will open in mid-2026.

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation offers grants through its Fund for Community Good to support nonprofits and government entities working toward racial equity across education, health, neighborhoods, arts and culture, economic prosperity, and environment. Applicants submit a brief pre-application, and selected projects advance to a full application with site visit before final approval and disbursement.
