Legacy Foundation, Indiana's largest community foundation for Lake County, offers multiple grant programs including Sponsorship Grants ($250-$2,000), Transform Lake County Grants ($2,000-$35,000), Knight Grants (up to $100,000), Nonprofit Teambuilding Grants ($500-$2,000), and the Lake County Resilience Grant (up to $40,000 per organization). Applications are accepted on a rolling basis for most programs, with specific deadlines for Transform Lake County Grants.
Eligibility
- notes: Must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization serving Lake County, Indiana residents. Governmental agencies, schools, and educational institutions are not eligible. For Lake County Resilience Grant specifically, organizations must demonstrate documented financial loss from federal or state funding cuts or contract terminations. Organizations may have previously received other Legacy Foundation grants.
