The Century Fund provides an annual grant of $100,000 to one nonprofit organization in the Lynchburg area and surrounding counties for a transformational project that fundamentally changes how the organization functions and creates significant positive impact. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofits or public educational institutions serving the specified region, and applications are accepted annually between February 1-28.
Eligibility
- notes: Nonprofit organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charities under IRS Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a), or public educational institutions without an IRS determination letter may also be eligible. Must serve the city of Lynchburg and/or surrounding counties of Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, and Campbell. Organizations must demonstrate strong mission alignment, effective program track record, financial management history, and ability to measure outcomes. Projects with completion within 2 years generally preferred. Previous recipients may reapply after 5 years.
