The Our Children Fund

Offered by THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION FOR NORTHERN VIRGINIA INC

The Our Children Fund provides financial assistance for foster care children in Fairfax County, Virginia (ages birth-17) and young adults (18-21) without permanency to support unmet medical, social, emotional, and educational needs. Eligible items include afterschool activities, camps, sports fees, and health services. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and amounts are determined case-by-case.

Eligibility

  • notes: Foster care children in Fairfax County between ages birth and 17 years, and young adults ages 18-21 if permanency (return home, relative placement, or adoption) has not been achieved. Applications must address otherwise unmet medical, social, emotional, and educational needs. Applications can be submitted by foster care parent, adult foster child, social worker, or other responsible adult, and must be substantiated by a third party such as case worker, social worker, teacher, school personnel, medical professional, or clergy member.
