About this grant
The Tennessee Arts Commission's Creative Placemaking grant funds projects that use arts and cultural activities or assets to shape the physical and social character of Tennessee neighborhoods, towns, cities, or regions for positive economic and community outcomes. Awards range from $3,000 to $30,000 and require a 4:1 cash or in-kind match. Eligible lead applicants are local government entities or Tennessee-chartered 501(c)(3) nonprofits.
Eligibility details
- Notes: Lead applicant must be an entity of local government or regional quasi-governmental entity (development district, human resource agency, etc.), OR a nonprofit organization legally chartered in Tennessee with an IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter. Schools, colleges, and universities are ineligible as lead applicants (may partner). Organizations awarded three consecutive Creative Placemaking grants in FY25, FY25, and FY27 are ineligible for FY28. All applicants must have a Unique Entity ID. Arts organizations receiving revenue from a New Specialty Earmarked Plate under T.C.A 55-4-301(a)(1) are ineligible. Ineligible projects include operating support and marketing/promotional materials.
