The Kalamazoo Community Foundation's Emergency Scholarship Fund provides up to $5,000 in one-time awards to help students cover unexpected educational costs such as overdue tuition, textbooks, and certification fees. Awards are made on a rolling basis with applications reviewed monthly, and recipients can apply multiple times.
Eligibility
- notes: Applicants must be Kalamazoo County residents (current or with permanent residence in the county) pursuing post-secondary education (not high school degree). Students must demonstrate that the request is an emergency—either an expense they cannot cover that may cause them to stop attending school, lack course materials, or lose employment due to missing skills; or an education-related expense that helps obtain employment, increase income, or maintain employment. Students do not need to be current KZCF scholarship recipients.
