Black Hawk County Grants

The Jetton Charitable Fund supports school-age youth exposure to cultural education, including performing and visual arts programs and educational programs in natural science, technology, zoology, botany, and history. Grants of $20,000 and up are awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations in the Omaha metropolitan area that serve at least 1,000 students annually.

The Vos Trust, administered by the Pella Community Foundation, provides grants of $5,000 or more to nonprofit organizations that prioritize faith-based organizations and those serving the disadvantaged while enhancing quality of life in the Pella community. Applications are accepted annually with an October 1st deadline, and grants are awarded once per year in November.

The Pella Community Foundation awards grants through its Garden Chapel Donor Advised Funds to support creative and innovative programs that enhance quality of life in the Pella, Iowa area, particularly those providing bereavement services, hospice, and end-of-life services. Grants are made once per year with applications due by October 1st for November funding decisions.

The LGBTQIA2S+ Equality Fund provides grants to support lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and non-binary individuals and families in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area. Grants support healthcare, legal services, leadership development, and safe shelter for LGBTQIA2S+ communities, with up to $200,000 in total annual funding available.

The Futuro Latino Fund supports initiatives and organizations that benefit Latino communities in the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro area through resident-led decision making. Up to $175,000 in grant funding is awarded annually, with average grants of $10,000 to $15,000, to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations with budgets not exceeding $500,000.

The African American Unity Fund supports initiatives and organizations that benefit the African American community in Omaha through resident-led decision making. The program awards up to $225,000 annually in grants (up to $30,000 per organization) across funding priorities including arts and culture, basic human needs, community development, health and wellness, and capacity building.
