The Grand Rapids Area Community Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations carrying out important work in the Greater Itasca Area. The annual grant cycle runs from July 15 to September 1, with funding decisions made by donors, advisory committees, or the Foundation based on project impact and community benefit.

The McGregor Lakes Area Foundation provides grants to nonprofits and community organizations in the McGregor Lakes Area of Minnesota to support community needs, environmental sustainability and stewardship, and endowment development. The foundation has distributed over $95,000 since 1992 and accepts applications during its annual grant cycle.

A single online application for students to apply for hundreds of scholarship awards for college, career training, or graduate school. Most scholarships require a connection to West Michigan (current or past residents). The application opens December 1 and closes March 1 each year, with nearly $700,000 awarded annually.

Point of Pride's HRT Access Fund provides direct financial assistance to transgender individuals who cannot afford gender-affirming hormone replacement therapy. Recipients receive 18 months of HRT-related care including telemedical visits, lab work, medical letters, and prescription cost coverage through partner providers.

The Greenway Area Community Fund provides grants to nonprofits and community organizations in the Greenway Area to enhance quality of life and meet community needs. Applications are accepted annually during a specific window (March 1–31) from an endowment established to support the region's future.

Impact Grants help 501(c)3 nonprofits and eligible entities in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties, Michigan make lasting community change by increasing long-term impact, reaching underserved populations, or enabling collaborative work between nonprofits. Grants require a dollar-for-dollar cash match and cannot be used for ongoing operational expenses.

The Hudsonville Education Foundation provides grants up to $2,000 for student-facing employees at Hudsonville Public Schools to fund academic resources, activities, and initiatives that enhance educational experiences. Applications open April 15 and close June 15 annually for the 2026 grant cycle.

The Inclusive Arts Fund supports small to mid-size arts and cultural organizations in Southeast Michigan with grants of $25,000 to enhance capacity and increase community access to arts programming. Grants may support artistic programming, organizational capacity building, audience development, and community access initiatives.

The Minneapolis Foundation, in partnership with the Midwest Environmental Justice Network, NDN Collective, and RE-AMP Network, will award environmental justice grants to community-based nonprofits and eligible organizations working in underserved communities throughout the Great Lakes region. The program distributes $52 million over three years in three tiers (Assessment and Engagement, Community Education and Planning, and Project Development and Implementation) supporting environmental health, air/water quality, healthy homes, food access, green infrastructure, and related priorities.

The Kalamazoo Community Foundation's Emergency Scholarship Fund provides up to $5,000 in one-time awards to help students cover unexpected educational costs such as overdue tuition, textbooks, and certification fees. Awards are made on a rolling basis with applications reviewed monthly, and recipients can apply multiple times.

The Community Urgent Relief Fund is Kalamazoo Community Foundation's rapid-response grant program designed to provide emergency funding during community crises and natural disasters. Currently focused on supporting residents and nonprofit organizations serving those impacted by the May 7, 2024 tornadoes in Kalamazoo County. The fund provides flexible, one-time awards for direct assistance, temporary housing, home repairs, and disaster response services.

The LGBTQ Fund provides grants to community organizations in West Michigan with programming addressing social determinants of health for LGBTQ+ communities. The fund supports wellness, visibility, acceptance, and access to resources for LGBTQ+ populations. Grant applications will open in mid-2026.

The Grand Rapids Community Foundation offers grants through its Fund for Community Good to support nonprofits and government entities working toward racial equity across education, health, neighborhoods, arts and culture, economic prosperity, and environment. Applicants submit a brief pre-application, and selected projects advance to a full application with site visit before final approval and disbursement.

The Nashwauk Area Community Fund provides discretionary grants to 501(c)(3) and other not-for-profit organizations in the Nashwauk area and surrounding townships to improve quality of life. Grants are available during spring and fall grant cycles with an application process accessible via the Apply Now button.

The Greenway Area Community Fund is an endowment that provides grants to nonprofit and community organizations in the Greenway Area to enhance quality of life. Applications are accepted annually during a specific window (March 1-31) from eligible organizations serving cities and townships in the region.

The Community Foundation of St. Clair County offers grants to nonprofit organizations in St. Clair County through multiple funding committees and endowment funds. Applications are accepted year-round through an online portal, with reviews scheduled at regular meetings if submitted at least two weeks prior.

NEMYAC awards approximately $50,000 annually to local nonprofits for youth-related programs and projects in four Michigan counties. The Youth Advisory Council, composed of about 50 students and seven advisors, manages the grant-making process using permanently endowed funds from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

The Allegan County Community Foundation offers multiple grant cycles including Community Grants, TAG Team Youth Grants, Food Security Grants, Pride Fund Grants, Capital Campaign Grants, Disaster Response Grants, Plainwell Community Fund Grants, and Plainwell Education Foundation Mini Grants. These grants support programs benefiting residents of Allegan County across various focus areas such as basic needs, arts, environment, economic development, animal welfare, youth development, food security, LGBTQIA+ support, and education.

The Northeast Michigan Youth Advisory Council awards approximately $50,000 annually to local nonprofit organizations for youth-related programs and projects in four counties. Grants up to $2,500 are available with application deadlines on January 15 and October 15.

The Community Foundation for Northeast Michigan offers Community Impact Grants to support future projects in Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle counties. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, schools, and government agencies (with restrictions on religious organizations). Applications are reviewed twice yearly with clear deadlines.
